The Task:
We wanted to explore the world of NFT Art, driven by the desire to craft a unique collection of avatars that would stand out in this burgeoning digital landscape. Drawing inspiration from the charmingly vibrant critters of the 1980s, we envisioned a world that juxtaposed their adorable aesthetic with an unexpectedly savage twist.
The Solution:
In crafting this collection, we envisioned a world where each character and item could come to life as enchanting toys. With this in mind, we poured our creativity into every design, ensuring that each one possessed a whimsical charm and playful appeal. Additionally, we introduced a lineup of legendary Growlies, each distinguished by its own distinct and captivating design, adding an extra layer of magic to the collection.
Our ambition extended beyond the confines of a mere assortment; we aspired to cultivate an entire universe, a franchise that would captivate people across various mediums.
Our collection was born from the vivid imagery of an apocalyptic wasteland, where the Growlies, once innocently charming creatures, were thrust into a harsh and unforgiving world, compelled to fight tooth and claw for their very survival. This savage universe served as both the backdrop and catalyst for their epic journey.
Within this desolate landscape, we meticulously crafted over a thousand unique characters, each bearing the scars and stories of their battle-hardened existence. From weathered veterans with a stoic resolve to spirited newcomers brimming with untamed potential, every Growlie bore witness to the trials of this unforgiving realm.
These characters weren’t merely avatars; they were living testaments to resilience, embodying the indomitable spirit that surged within them. Each one carried a narrative, a testament to the survival instincts that pulsed through their veins, and a testament to the enduring power of hope in the face of adversity.
When we first started envisioning the Battle Growlies project, we wanted them to be cute but deadly characters. Something that you wanted to hug at your own risk. We tried many animal species, colors and shapes. Also we thought of many storylines in that time.
We implemented a 10-variations system to efficiently generate thousands of distinct characters. To achieve this, we designed a custom plugin for Blender.
This tool allows us to assign specific rarity percentages to each trait, streamlining the process of rendering unique combinations.
In the realm of Battle Growlies, diversity reigns supreme when it comes to traits. With an extensive array of items and apparel, we’ve meticulously curated an assortment that guarantees each Growlie possesses its own distinctive identity.
Whether wielding a katana with lethal precision, brandishing a toilet plunger with unexpected prowess, or serenading the wastelands with a guitar, these eclectic traits ensure there’s a perfect Growlie waiting to resonate with you.
To streamline the creation process for the numerous Growlies characters and assets, we opted to utilize virtual reality (VR) technology.
This choice proved instrumental in expediting the workflow, particularly considering the extensive number of assets we needed to produce, which amounted to thousands.
Nestled within the heart of the Battle Growlies NFT collection are the fabled Legendary Growlies, a select few whose presence radiates with an aura of unparalleled rarity and power.

Lastly, the grassland, though serene, bears witness to battles of the past, its earth strewn with weathered skulls.
From the convenience store’s destruction and defeated characters to the carefully designed shadows of the dark alley, every detail was thoughtfully considered. The interior of the passenger train was brought to life with precision, capturing the bloody ambient and serenity of the characters. Meanwhile, the grassland with its scattered skulls required a delicate touch to strike the right balance between serenity and the weight of history.
